Small businesses, such as community pharmacies and independent auto dealers, are the heart of the US economy. However — due to the rise of AI, digital economy, private equity consolidation, and inflationary pressures — a massive operational gap is forming between these SMBs and larger enterprises / tech-forward industries. These larger companies employ full finance teams and leverage the latest finance software. Small businesses deserve the same resources.
The Founding Story:
With that mission to empower SMBs in mind, Sahil and Aaron approached 100s of business owners across NYC with a simple pitch: “Tell us more about your financial systems so we can help you improve your business”.
The SMB owners’ response?
“I don’t trust you”. “Why should I share anything with you”? And sometimes a few curse words . . .
Sahil and Aaron were able to break through and truly understand why small businesses have lost trust. They don’t have anyone in their corner.
Affiniti is here to change that. We are building the financial technology they need and deserve, and onboarding them through partnerships with the trade associations that work and fight on behalf of them.
Today, we are proud to work with thousands of small businesses generating ~$4B of combined revenue, across all 50 US states. And at the rate we are growing, those numbers are likely already out of date.
Our customers are at the center of everything we do. No small business owner considers their job a 9-5, and we are right there with them. We collaborate in the office 5+ days a week, and we regularly work nights and weekends like so many American small businesses do.
Owning a small business is a non-stop grind, and we believe that in order to build the products they deserve, we hold ourselves to an equal standard. We know we aren’t for everyone, and that’s okay.
